My love for music started before I could even walk. My mom used to put headphones on her belly while she was pregnant, and I like to think that’s where it all began.
From my first steps, I was moving to the rhythm, dancing with joy in our living room. Music wasn’t just something I heard—it was something I felt deeply in my soul.
Looking back, I can see now it was these early moments that laid the foundation for a career destined to bring people together through joy, connection, and the power of music.
When I was about 10 years old, I saw my first DJ on MTV, and something inside me clicked. I was mesmerized by how he could control the energy of a room with just a beat. I felt I had to try it and started playing with my dad’s old turntable and records, spending hours blending sounds and recording my creations.
By the time I reached high school, my DJ career had officially begun. I landed my own radio show and became the go-to DJ for school dances and local events. I chose the name DJ Stylewise because, at that time, it was all about style, flash, and being at the center of the action.
That’s when I realized this wasn’t just a hobby—it was my calling.
By the time I reached college, I was fully immersed in the DJ world. I became the resident DJ at City Nights, the largest 18+ nightclub in San Francisco, and performed live on WiLD 94.9 radio. Weekends were an electrifying blur of flashing lights, pounding bass, and packed dance floors.
But as thrilling as it was, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.
While I loved the energy of the crowd, and the popularity I realized I was longing for something deeper—meaningful connection and the kind of moments that first sparked the love for music in my heart.
While my career was thriving on the surface, deep down, I felt something was missing—something more meaningful. Struggling with this, I took a step back to reflect and regroup.
Traveling to Costa Rica and Colombia, I immersed myself in nature and rich cultures, spending time reading scripture, exploring spiritual texts, journaling, and reconnecting with what truly mattered.
During this journey, I realized my true passion wasn’t just music—it was about creating unity and meaningful, unforgettable moments.
That time away reshaped my perspective, giving me clarity and a renewed sense of purpose.
When I returned, I knew it was time to shift my focus.
The name DJ Stylewise no longer felt right, and so, DJ Heartbeat was born, reflecting my mission to bring heart and soul to every event.
Along the way, I found a special joy in focusing on weddings because they’re the ultimate celebration of love and connection.
Today, helping couples tell their love stories through music and creating moments they’ll treasure forever is what inspires me.
